Misty Croft Ltd. offer medium to long term residential care to Separated Children Seeking International Protection up to the age of 18.
Through ‘meaningful relationships’ it is hoped that the young people will journey with Staff and trust enough to integrate in society and begin an independent, stable life. As a Social Care Worker, you are expected to take responsibility for the daily care of young people. You are also required to understand Child Care principles and have an awareness of the multicultural aspect of the Unit. Candidates should be emotionally mature, willing and open to engage in processes, which will enhance their ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
- The Social Care Worker will contribute to the planning and evaluation of individualised care programs based on needs identified in consultation with the young person, SW and those with a bona fide interest in the YP’s life
- To contribute to the promotion, creation and maintenance of a welcoming and caring environment with high standards of child care practice
- To ensure the rights and responsibilities of young people are respected and promoted
- To provide a positive life experience for the young people in all aspects of their care and welfare.
- To carry out your duty as a mandated reporter as defined in the Children First Act 2015
- To advise the Social Care Leader/Manager of accidents/incidents/complaints or concerns as they arise and to provide written reports
- To ensure that all procedures regarding the care of young people and the use of resources are adhered to.
- To deliver a stable, safe, clean and comfortable living and working environment for the young people and staff in the Unit
- To regularly update and keep in order the young people’s files, diaries and relevant records
- To take on key workers responsibilities as required, prepare written reports for reviews and case conferences
- Participate with and attend Care Plans/reviews and case conferences and to implement agreed plans.
- Participate in meetings in relation to the care and development of the young person
- To supervise groups of young people on activities within or outside the Unit.
- To ensure that the young people are not subject to any form of abuse or neglect, and to ensure they are not subject to bullying or the threat of
- To undertake all domestic duties required.
- To be alert to any possible danger, either from defects in premises or equipment and to bring these to the notice of senior staff.
- To purposefully participate in staff meetings, trainings and supervision sessions to develop and extend knowledge and skills and to be updated on every issue concerning the Unit.
- To be prepared to work and discuss the work of the unit with other professionals as appropriate while respecting the need for confidentiality.
- To understand and respect the different ethnical and cultural backgrounds of the young people.
